March Quilty365 linkup

ooops I'm a day late in posting the link-up for the March blocks - hope its not just me that thinks this year is zipping along very fast !!

I've had a few other deadlines this month so I haven't actually sewn any of my quilty365 blocks !

I've also had thoughts about the backing fabrics for my circles - I don't have enough of one fabric to use for all the blocks so I'm going to use different fabrics for the backings but at this point I don't have my backings sorted however I have picked out my circle fabrics for the month !

It seems that I have quite a bit of fabric that's suitable for fussy cutting !!

Its really fun to find a snippet of fabric each day that I want to include in this quilt !

Last month Jann asked how everyone was storing their circles so they don't get lost which is a very good point considering this is a 365 day quilt along !!

I'm storing my monthly blocks in a separate zip lock bag

and I've also got a small plastic container that I'm keeping the bags in along with my marking pens and squircle template ! Hopefully the plastic container is big enough to hold my blocks until the end !

I'm off to Tasmania for a couple of weeks later this month so I will probably just have my circles chosen again this month and hopefully in May I'll have time to start stitching them together !

So I look forward to seeing the wonderful blocks that everyone else has made - I hope you're a bit more organised than me !!

  1. Whew! 212 blocks done - I'm now half-way as I started September 1. I finally completed November; I think I even did a happy dance!!:) You may have noticed on my March blocks that the last day's background is different. I've decided to use a different (for each month) colored background on the last day. I'm in the process of changing September through February.
I love the choices you've made for March circles - the bikes are a favorite for me. I have my blocks stacked in a box by month. I did mark the date on the back of each square and under the circle with a permanent marker. That should help if I get confused doing the final layout or, Heaven forbid, I drop the box and they all get dumped on the floor. Who knows, maybe the dates will be discovered by someone 50 or 100 years in the future. Happy April...it's raining here today so that must mean gorgeous May blooms!!
