happy first birthday

I've just realised its a year ago yesterday since I did my first post (if you could call it that !)

Some bloggers have giveaways for their first year anniversary but as I'm not "publicly listed" yet I'll have to do a giveaway for another milestone instead so watch this space :)

I contacted Casey at hot bliggity blog yesterday to do a few little changes to my blog which coincides nicely so I'll make it a sort of blog birthday pressie - Casey did a great job and even set up the cute sign off !

happy birthday little blog - hip hip horray !

january OPAM finishes

thought I'd better show my finishes for January OPAM - you know, as evidence!

this is a makeup bag I did for my sister - from In the Life of a Bag book by Anni at Hatched and Patched - replaced the zipper pull with a cute heart one

a tablerunner for my sister in law - I made this up based on a gorgeous tablerunner that I saw on Peg's blog.  Its 60 inches long and 14 inches wide.  I did different sized strips between 11/2 and 3 inches wide.  The backing is the small black and white polka dot.

For my mum - I started this quite a number of years ago - it think the problem was that I didn't know whether to make it a cushion or wall hanging - its ended up a wall hanging.  The design is a mixture of some of the blocks from Leanne's House Block of the Month.

These are two cushions I also made for my mum - I'd made up a table runner in the same pattern and then thought I'd do the cushions as well - again they were long overdue!

OPAM 2011

I've signed up to OPAM 2011 (yay thanks peg and kris) which I'm hoping will motivate me to get some ufos finished as well as getting a few more sewing projects done.

Last weekend was spent re-arranging my sewing room and I've moved my sewing table so I can use that to sew on instead of being a storage table and as a plus I get my dining table back!

I bought some storage boxes (thanks mum) and the room is looking good - I've got area to move both sides of the table so I'm ready to get some items sewn. I should have taken some "before" photos but of course didn't think of that until I was half way through

Anne at Bunny Tales has made some cute lavender sachets that I might "whip up" this weekend as I've got a beautiful lavender plant that is about ready to harvest and I'm looking for way to use it - ok only one plant but I'm hoping for a bumper harvest !
